A Kansas City, Kan., firefighter was injured Sunday morning after responding to a structure fire at 840 Ann Avenue.

The fire, which is under investigation, caused $15,000 in damage at the site. The home was vacant. One firefighter suffered a minor foot injury.

"Fire crews on the scene within two minutes reported heavy smoke from the rear of a two-story structure," said Craig Duke, Battalion Chief and KCKFD spokesperson. "Structure was totally involved in the rear and basement. Fire spread to upper area of structure and roof. Crews reported holes in floor of upper level."

The fire did not injure anyone else.
