Canton, Kan. -
Deputies, Canton EMS personnel and Canton firefighters responded to a state-reportable, one-vehicle injury accident on 27th Avenue, .4 mile south of Frontier Road, at 7:22 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the report filed by the McPherson County Sheriffs Office, the driver, Michael Felt, Canton, was southbound on 27th Avenue when, for unknown reason, the vehicle entered the east ditch and struck a culvert. The vehicle was airborne before coming to rest upright.

Felt had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was flown by helicopter to St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.

Felt is listed in "serious condition" this morning, according to a hospital spokesperson.
