Hazardous Materials Technician Course

Date: March 1-12, IFSAC testing (tentative) March 12th

Course Description:
The Technician course is intended for those personnel that may respond to and mitigate an incident involving hazardous materials/WMD. Emphasis is placed on the use of equipment and protective clothing required for working within the Hot-Zone.

This is an intensive, hands-on course designed to meet all competencies as detailed within the NFPA 472 in a two week format. This may require students to attend some evening classes, and/or complete research assignments outside of scheduled class time.

All Students should be competent at the operations level prior to course start date. All students will be required to complete quizzes, written tests, and hands-on competencies with a minimum score of 70%.

IFSAC testing will be conducted by the University of Kansas Fire and Rescue Training Institute, tentatively scheduled for the 10th of March
