Boy cooking noodles burns himself, walks to fire station

WICHITA - A 10-year-old boy burned himself with hot water when his attempt to cook Ramen noodles went awry Sunday night.

He spilled the water as he attempted to drain it from a pot, police said. He then walked about two blocks to Fire Station 8 at 661 N. Elder.

He was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis, where he was treated for burns on his chest and arms and then released.
