Fire Destroys Rural Home

A fire in Pottawatomie County left two people without a home.
The house was located south of Fostoria, off Highway 13 and Bigelow Road.

Officials say the fire broke out around 3 pm Wednesday. A passerby spotted it and called for help. Crews from several surrounding communities responded.

Fire officials say the blaze appears to have started in the kitchen and quickly spread through the home, destroying it.

Two people living there weren't home at the time. The Red Cross is helping them.

The fire remains under investigation.
