House fire reported in Lawrence after loud boom

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical crews responded to a house fire around 7 p.m. Wednesday, near Clinton Parkway and Kasold Drive.

Emergency dispatchers said the fire was reportedly contained to the wall and ceiling of the home at 2031 Quail Creek Drive.

Neighbors at the scene said they heard a loud boom around that time, as a thunderstorm was rolling through Douglas County.

Douglas County emergency management director Teri Smith said she had no information as to whether the incident was caused by the storm.
