Roberts secures grants for KCKFD

U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) secured over $297,000 in grants for
the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department.
Roberts announced this morning that the KCKFD will receive
$297,993 in grants for use in fire operations and safety.
"I am pleased to announce these funds, which are vital to
improve firefighting efforts and first responder needs in Kansas
communities," Roberts said. It's imperative to support our local
fire departments."
The grants were funded through the 2009 Assistance to
Firefighters Grant Program, which is under the U.S. Department
of Homeland Security.
