Fire Department Pumping Apparatus Maintenance

Description:
Fire Department Pumping Apparatus Maintenance 1st Edition (2003))
Author/Publisher: Don Henry
ISBN 10: 0-87939-219-3
This text is the essential manual for both the emergency services technician and
the operator. It elaborates and expands the knowledge and skills outlined in
NFPA® 1071, Standard for Emergency Vehicle Technician Professional
Qualifications, by focusing on the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and
repair of those systems that are unique to fire service pumping apparatus. It
also covers the preventative maintenance required for fire department pumpers as
outlined in NFPA® 1915, Standard for Fire Apparatus Preventative Maintenance
Program, by giving detailed explanations for how and why such a program needs to
be implemented.
As an added bonus, the text also justifies NFPA® 1901, Standard for Automotive
Fire Apparatus, as it relates to maintenance. Included with the manual is a
CD-ROM containing appendices on maintenance recommendations for major brands of
fire pumps and inspection equipment, thus completing all of the information
needed to maintain pumping apparatus to meet the NFPA® standards. These
appendices are not printed in the manual.
