This CD-ROM includes virtually everything required to teach a comprehensive training course to meet the requirements of the 2008 edition of NFPA® 1001. This curriculum CD-ROM was developed to provide instructors and training agencies with all of the resources they need to teach basic fire fighting courses. The curriculum materials are designed to follow both the Essentials of Fire Fighting (5th edition) manual and the Essentials of Fire Fighting and Fire Department Operations (5th edition) manual. The materials are divided into Fire Fighter I and II lessons.

Each lesson contains a detailed, yet simple-to-use instructor presentation outline in Microsoft Word® format. This format allows instructors to customize the files to conform to their own teaching preferences or local procedures if they so choose. Skill evaluation checklists pertinent to each lesson are also provided. Customizable high-quality PowerPoint® presentations also accompany each lesson. These presentations include photos and illustrations from the manuals.

One exciting new feature that has been added for the 5th edition curriculum is the inclusion of a test generator on the curriculum CD-ROM. Questions from each chapter are placed into a test generator provided though our partnership with Brady. This process allows instructors to generate customized tests to meet their needs and suit their preferences.

All of the files on this CD-ROM may be viewed from the disc or copied to a computer hard drive. (It is necessary to copy the files in order to customize them.)
