There were no injuries after a fire broke out at 507 W. 6th St. Monday morning.
The Pittsburg Fire Department was advised of a structure fire at 8:48 a.m.
According to Battalion Chief Bryan Main upon arrival, there was smoke coming from the rear of the house.
It was believed there were victims inside, however no one was in the residence and all occupants were accounted for.
Three trucks and eight firemen were on scene, including the fire chief and fire marshal.
The fire was quickly knocked down and the residence was ventilated. Main said there is extensive damage inside because of the smoke and heat.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Kansas Fire Marshal's office.
