Topeka Fire Department crews were investigating after a house fire on Sunday evening in southwest Topeka that did an estimated damage of about $60,000.
The fire occurred around 7:10 p.m. to a residence in the 5100 block of S.W. 32nd Terrace.
Occupants were out of the house when fire crews arrived, battalion chief Chris Herrera said on the scene. Flames were showing from the rear of the residence.
Herrera said several panels of vinyl siding were pulled from the house to make sure the fire wasn’t spreading to the attic.
Topeka fire personnel brought several belongings out of the house, like a TV, to prevent damage.
Traffic on S.W. Fairlawn in the area of the fire was blocked for a time
