KSFFA AUXILIARY OFFICERS:

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2022 KSFFA AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

35 applications were received, with 26 completed forms reviewed by an independent group of professors that assigned points as outlined in the scholarship guidelines. Applications received but not complete included 6 missing transcripts and 3 that were not enrolled as full-time students. Points ranged from 98 to 65, with lower scores noted limited in community activities and/or lack of activities involving the fire department.

The firefighter scholarships were awarded to:

  • Aaron Riley Campbell, a volunteer firefighter at Lincoln-Ottawa-Harrison Township, is attending Hutchinson Community College for an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science.

  • Mason Henry Weathers is from Hutchinson and attending Hutchinson Community College for a Fire Science Degree.

 Jason & Emma Pisocki Scholarship was awarded to:

  • Jada Marie Nabus from Junction City is planning to attend Emporia State University, majoring in Nursing, then continue her education for a Nurse Practitioner Degree. Molly Pisocki was present to give the 4th Pisocki scholarship.

A new scholarship in memory of David Pittaway (for the next 5 years) was given by the Kansas City Kansas Firefighter Relief Association.  It was awarded to:

  • Taley Estelle Murdock from Concordia is planning to major in Nursing.

The James E. Todd Academic Scholarships were awarded to:

  • Syndey Ella Brown from Olathe is planning to major in Journalism.

  • Lean B. Riedy from Liberty is planning to major in Agriculture and Graphic Design.

  • Jett Skocny from Clyde is planning to major in Architecture.

  • Zachary James Rose from Osborne County will be attending NCK-Beloit Votech to major in Welding

 

Remember, full-time students can reapply each year.  The deadline for applications is February 1, 2024.  Please remember that school & community activities, along with volunteer activities at the local fire department, can improve the points applicants score. Scholarship winners will be announced at the 2024 KSFFFA Conference in Salina.

SUPPORTING KSFFA SCHOLARSHIPS                                                                                                 

An auction and raffle will be held at the conference to fund the 2024 scholarships. We appreciate all the firefighters, family members, and fire departments who participated in these activities, plus the donations we received to raise funds for the scholarships.
